this activity was very exciting for me.  i have used a digital camera a lot but i have never used comic life before! after we used photoshop and made it more creative it made the activity a lot more fun!  i will definitely be using this in my classroom.  kids love using digital programs and having them take pictures and making something out of it will be so fun for them!  i loved this activity and i plan on using it often.. in a 2nd and third grade classroom the kids would love to go out and take pictures of bugs and make a page out of it.  after you have them make a page and explain what they did and what the bugs are, they will learn a lot from it! im excited to incorporate this into my classroom someday!

this software for younger children is really helpful i think.  it shows them the letter, makes the sound that, that letter makes and then puts it into words that that letter is in. the program is very easy to follow and is very helpful when moving on to the next step. i think this is perfect for kindergartners.  they would stay in tune with the program and understand what to do.  it makes it good for them to hear the sounds and what the letter looks like in an actual word as well.  they also had on this website places you could go for other games and activities for younger children.  i think it is great for learning all about the alphabet and will help those younger kids succeed.

3. students will learn how to blend sounds.

webquest: students will need to be able to understand that letters make up words and the words make up vocabulary and that is what makes up our language.  for this webquest they will use games and videos to help gain a better understanding of the alphabet.  after the webquest the children for the project will be able to make up a nonsense word, be able to recognize the letters and sounds, and how to blend them together.

i think that webquests is a great way to involve students into your classroom. it is something that involves your students and you can access anywhere. it is a great place for students to learn and find more information about certain topics online for their own needs.  students can get effective knowledge from webquests and i can see where it could be very helpful and useful to them as a student.  i think it is a great place to make learning more fun and where kids will be excited to use something like this. it can access them and help them with their needs as a learning child.  it is an awesome and fun way to bring technology into your classroom and i really think you would be happy with your results!!!

After looking over the websites and evaluating them the forms were very helpful.  I really thought that the discovery education website was really interesting and full of good information:

It was very useful and very easy to use.  It is nice that you get to fill in all the information electronically.  It was very helpful and useful to me and it didn't make it hard at all to use and learn new and information from the website.  When doing research it is nice to find websites like this that makes it easier and helpful to use.  When helping students find sources it is very important to teach them right and make it useful for them. It is good to let students surf through the web and have them find information that they could use. 
I did not discover any hidden secrets about the websites from the forms.  I really think that the questions that came from the web site evaluation helped out in ways.  It is nice to be able to use a form and it be helpful to you in learning. 

spreadsheets. graphs. surveys. etc.

it was really interesting to me to learn more about these programs and how to really use them. i never knew all about it. it will be a great way to include technology into your classroom by doing surveys and making graphs out of certain experiments you do in your classroom. it is also great way to gather information for different activities going on in your classroom as well as teacher/parent involvement into your own classroom. make it available for your parents to see so they can add things as well if they want. children love to learn new things and this is an easy way to teach them something new also. spreadsheets are a great way of grading and using to record grades as well as other things you do in your class. this was really good for me to touch up on my skills that i didnt know as well.

word processing.

i think word processing is a great program to learn and use in the classroom.  while in my practicum this semester our school has laptops that the children get to use.  it is amazing to me what little 2nd graders already know and how well they know how to use Microsoft word and how to type certain things.  they have been using them to type their autobiographies about them and they think that it is just amazing.  it really is!  Word is very useful and there is so much to learn from it.  many assignments is used through word processing.  it is a very helpful program and you can do so much with it.  children are far more advanced in today's technology that it is not hard for them to pick up anything to do with technology.  it is amazing how fast they can learn and how much they take in so fast.  when teaching kids at a young age it sticks and it will always be with them.  i will also use word in my own classroom by typing up newsletters and things for parents and my classroom! it is a great program!!

y.e.t.c.

they y.e.t.c. really opened my eyes to a lot of things. i remember going there before but i never learned as much as i did past friday. there is so much you can do and so many great ways of doing things and learning so much.  i am so glad that it is available to us to use for free and we can become better teachers because of it! i hope to use many of the software programs available.  i really can see this being beneficial for me and for my classroom someday. it is a great place to go and scan, copy, and make videos all so easy!!! i am excited to learn more and get started!

UEN

UEN is a great resource. I think it is helpful in a lot of ways and will be a great program to work with and learn more about. I couldn't believe the web cam and how it works!! That is so great to have and to use. It is great how easy it will be to work with the lesson plans and to be able to be more organized in our planning. There are a lot of useful ideas that will be great to work with and help out a lot. The website also has a calender which will be helpfult to be able to plan out and see exactly what is going on each week! I know as a teacher this will be very helpful to me in my future!!

in the great world of blogging!

I think blogs are great!!  I have thought a lot about how a blog would be great for a classroom!  It would be a great way for parents and children to get on and have reminders and let the parents see what is going on inside the classroom and what also needs to be done outside of the classroom!  It would be a great way to keep in contact with parents and let them have more of a feel for what is going on weekly or however often you posted instead of twice or three times a year at parent teacher conference time.  It would save a lot of time typing up notes and things to send home with the kids and that way it would never get lost.  Hopefully by keeping the parents involved with what is going on it would also be a great journal for them to go back and look at to see what went on in their classroom that year!!
